Bernardo Silva has warned his teammates that Manchester City can’t afford a slip up with Liverpool and Chelsea breathing down their necks after going to the top of the table. The Portuguese is happy that the Blues have climbed to the top of the pile but has cautioned that there’s still a long way to go.
Bernardo Silva said: “Yeah definitely. Liverpool and Chelsea, they’re doing an amazing season. It’s been tough for us, it’s going to be tough for them and for us to compete with each other. We know that the level and the standards are very high. We have to do our job, we know how tough it is to win this league, the most competitive league in the world, and we’re going to try and do our best, as we always do. It’s always better to be top of the league than second or third or fourth, but it’s still the beginning, not even halfway through, so a lot of work to do. We’re happy to be top of the league but it’s so close, Liverpool are just one point behind, Chelsea, if I’m not mistaken, two points behind us and lots of games to play, lots of games to win, but of course it’s better to be in our position than not to be on the top.”
Bernardo also revealed that confidence levels are high within the squad at the moment.
Bernardo Silva added: “Good moment. We’re happy with the moment,” he added. “We’re happy with our form. But as I said, we’re not even halfway through the Premier League. It’s just the beginning. We have to keep working a lot cause this season is going to be very tough.”
