Brighton and Hove Albion are reportedly open to selling their Brazilian striker Joao Pedro during the summer transfer window. However, any club interested in acquiring his services will need to pay a fee significantly higher than what Brighton initially paid Watford in 2023. Pedro, who has scored 30 goals in 70 appearances for the Seagulls, was involved in a training ground altercation with teammate Jan Paul van Hecke, leading to his exclusion from the squad in the final stages of the season.
Fabian Hurzeler said: “We dealt with it internally and the matter is closed. Joao is still a young player. I’m really looking forward to seeing him renewed and reinvigorated at his highest peak.”
The Seagulls are seeking a substantial fee for Pedro, with reports suggesting they want around £70 million for the forward. This valuation is more than double the £30 million they paid Watford two years ago. Brighton rates Pedro highly and is unwilling to let him leave for less than their valuation. The 23-year-old striker, who has three international caps, is seen as a valuable asset, and the club is keen to ensure they receive fair compensation if he departs.
Aston Villa, who did not replace Jhon Duran with a dedicated forward in January, might be interested in Pedro as they seek to bolster their attacking options. With Ollie Watkins currently the only recognized striker, Villa is eager to strengthen this area of their squad.
In addition to transfer news, Aston Villa fans can look forward to a range of merchandise celebrating the club’s 150-year anniversary. The club store offers various items, including a ‘dream scene’ painting, a construction model of Villa Park, and a replica of the team bus. These products, available for a limited time, provide fans with unique ways to show their support and pride for the club.
