Reece James has heaped praise on Chelsea’s new striker Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian frontman joined the Blues for a second stint earlier this month for a club-record £97.5million – a transfer that made him the second most expensive player in Premier League history behind Manchester City playmaker Jack Grealish. Lukaku was a Chelsea player between 2011 and 2014, featuring just 15 times for the west London in the 2011/12 campaign before he was loaned to West Brom and Everton, eventually joining the latter on a permanent basis. And the 21-year-old admitted he was incredibly impressed with Lukaku’s performance against Mikel Arteta’s side, citing his physicality as one of the reasons why he is an elite-level striker.
Reece James said: “What an addition to our team, to have such a focal striker like that. Everyone’s seen today how powerful he is. When he gets a chance, he finishes. I think he’s shown how he bullies players today. I can’t really think of any players like him in the world, how strong and powerful. Everyone he just comes up against he just bullies.”
