Said Benrahma has dismissed concerns over his medical that caused a delay to his signing for West Ham and, at one stage, jeopardised a move entirely. The 25-year-old eventually put pen to paper on a season-long loan deal from Brentford with the Hammers having an obligation to buy in 2021. A reported problem with Benrahma’s blood test when he was undergoing his medical in east London almost caused a move to collapse with the Hammers ready to pay £30million for a permanent move. The 25-year-old joined in with training at Rush Green for the first time on Tuesday and is in contention to make his debut in the home game against Manchester City this weekend at London Stadium.

Said Benrahma said “No, everything is very good. It was just details that needed sorting out. Some results hadn’t come through yet. It was either we waited and I didn’t sign or it gets done quickly. That was it, small details, but my health is very, very good. It was hard at first, throughout the transfer window, After that, West Ham really wanted me. It was a long process. There were small details that Brentford and West Ham had to sort out, but it got done and I’m super happy. It took time, but it’s over now. I’m 100% at West Ham.”
