Aston Villa winger Leon Bailey has revealed the key quality Unai Emery has that brings out something “rare to find” in his players.
Bailey lauded the head coach ahead of the weekend’s Premier League finale against Brighton, which could see Villa qualify for Europe.
The impact Emery has had on his players since arriving at Villa Park last October has been “just ridiculous”, Bailey said, adding that the Spaniard has “changed the perspective” of the club.
Leon bailey said: “It’s very evident that he has had a lot of impact on this team. The players are really, really committed to what he believes in and what he’s trying to do with this football club. He’s a great manager, of course everybody can see that. Since he’s been here he’s changed the perspective of everybody’s minds: the way we should carry ourselves, moving forward into a game, going into a training session. Everything is so detailed. It’s crazy. I’ve never experienced that with any other coach I’ve ever been with. I think as a player, whether you’re starting a game or not, you’re so comfortable and confident to carry out whatever he has asked of you. That’s rare to find in football players nowadays. If you’re on the bench or something, a lot of players tend to get in their feelings. But everybody knows how important they are to the team and he makes you feel that way all the time. I think that just really gives every single body in the dressing room a different feeling. Now it’s just like one big family here at the football club. It’s just ridiculous how much he’s had an impact on this whole team.”
