Sean Dyche said he was “amazed” Everton were not awarded a second penalty against Nottingham Forest. Speaking after the game, Dyche highlighted his confusion over the call, saying he was “amazed” it went against his side.
Sean Dyche said: “I don’t know what gets a penalty any more. You touch them on the shoulder and they go down and it is a penalty. Seamus clearly gets there, their lad puts his foot in front of him, kicks the back of his foot, but apparently that’s not. I don’t know where that lives. I asked the referee and he said he didn’t think it was a penalty. I said ‘well I don’t know what is then because at the end of the day… he said he felt he [Coleman] has kicked the back of his [Colback’s] foot and I said ‘do you know why – because he put his foot in front of his foot… If you are on goal and you are going to shoot and the defender puts his foot in front of yours and you kick it, I’m telling you that is a penalty.”
