Context: Cole Palmer Reflects on His Performance Against Brighton
Chelsea’s 22-year-old forward Cole Palmer made history by becoming the first player in Premier League history to score four goals in the first half of a match during the 5-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion. Despite this remarkable feat, Palmer was critical of his own performance, believing he should have scored more. He has now contributed to 42 goals in the Premier League since the start of last season, although he remains four goals behind Erling Haaland in the top scorers’ chart.
Cole Palmer’s Post-Match Reflections:
Palmer: “I should have had five or six! When I missed the first chance I was upset but with the way they played and their high line I felt we’d get more chances. The manager set up a good game plan, we knew how to attack them with first-time passes in behind. Brighton are a good team, pass the ball well. They play similar to us. Three points is what we needed and that is what we got.”
