What do you put that performance down to?
I think that Wolves are a good team as well and maybe we were not quite at it but for the opening 20 minutes we had opportunities to get in front and then they had control of the second half of the first half and then actually when the goal came, I did not think we were that far out of it. The game was very close but that is what it is like in the Premier League. We were just not quite on it.
Antonio has one in eight for West Ham. What do you think he needs to do to get back to form?
I think he needs to get himself into real good condition because he thrives when he is physically in top condition. We have tried to protect him, we have not used him too many times in European games so we have tried to do that because we are trying to keep him fit for Premier League games especially. But we will find a way. Centre-forwards often go through spells with no goals but we home there are a few to come soon.
Is he not quite fit at the moment?
He is fit but for Mic he always needs to be super fit really. I think Mic will know that when he is really on it he is a real handful but today he was not really as good as he has been.
What was missing today?
I think there was a bit missing. A couple of players not really at the level they’ve shown, a couple coming back from illness. We just weren’t quite at the races, the first time playing without Angelo. There’s a few things but no excuses. The games in the Premier League there is very little between the teams. Today was very tight but we didn’t play as well as we have done. But if you expect us to be on it every game then we’ll be having these questions quite a bit because we’re not at the level yet to play at the highest standards every single game this season.
Could you go to a back three after Angelo Ogbonna’s injury?
To the naked eye we’ve been using a bit of it without it looking too obvious but we have to have the right personnel to do it. Arthur is someone who could possibly do it for us but it is something we have to consider. They played three at the back and caused us problems with their width and wing-backs but we knew it was coming, so it wasn’t something we weren’t aware of.
