In a recent Premier League match, Chris Wood put Forest ahead early in the first half. However, Diogo Jota’s second-half equaliser resulted in a draw at the City Ground. This outcome maintained Arne Slot’s team’s six-point lead at the top of the Premier League table, just before Arsenal’s home clash with Tottenham on Wednesday evening.
Liverpool, with a game in hand over all their title rivals, had their postponed Merseyside derby scheduled for February 12. Following the match, Neco Williams, who played the full 90 minutes at left-back for Nuno Espirito Santo’s team against the Reds, took to Instagram.
Williams said, “Top side.”
Williams had previously expressed his emotions when his departure from Liverpool was confirmed two and a half years ago. The full-back had made 33 appearances in total for the Reds.
Williams said, “15 years at this special club, thank you for everything Liverpool. It’s been an honour to play for this club and to play under Jurgen Klopp. But I’ve now decided to take up a new challenge. I wish all the team and the staff the best of luck for the future and will always continue to support the club. Thank you and never forget YNWA!!!”
