On numerous occasions, Moyes has said that he wants to take West Ham as high as possible but a challenge for continental football next season would be “a humongous step.” In the aftermath of his side’s most recent win, a 3-0 victory over Sheffield United,
David Moyes said: “Pearcey [Stuart Pearce] mentioned to me before the game that we have five games before the first of April. Obviously, we are still in February so at the end of those five games if we get into the last month or two of the season then it might hot up but we can’t really be talking this way. It nearly feels a bit uneasy. I don’t want to be negative in any way but the teams around us are super teams, so let’s be fair we are up against some top top talent, top teams and we are going to have to play incredibly well to be there.”
