Burnley manager Sean Dyche says he is glad that his players are attracting interest from various clubs across the premier league but insist that there is no truth in any impending transfers away from the club. Ahead of the start of the new Premier League season, Dyche did say that every player in his squad does have a price but that his club are in a strong position financially.
Sean Dyche said “In a healthy way we have had speculation on players from the first day I was here. The main three being linked are Dwight [McNeill], Popey [Nick Pope] and Tarky. It is not new to us. The club is in a very strong position financially. Does every player have their price at every club? Yes they do. But it is fair to say we are in a very strong position. We are not in the business of selling our best players on the cheap I am amazed he (Tarkowski) was not in the England squad. It was the most surprised I have been with Tarky not being in the squad. When you look at Tarky, Popey and those kind of players and the amount we spent, we have done very well over the years. The market at that time was offering that situation. The market has changed, there was more balance to the market. Now there are no rules and the price could be anything. You just never know. It has got more tricky and difficult. I want every player to be thinking can we achieve things and go to the top of our business, first of all with Burnley. There is no problem with the mindset whatsoever. Internally I am the only one who knows things going on, with the chairman and the board, but that is nothing to do with anyone else. We have always been respectful of the industry when signing players or looking after our own. I just concentrate on the football side of things and he is a very talented player, he had an excellent season and I am sure he will look to have an excellent season for us this season.”
