After a challenging match against Southampton, Portuguese international Bernardo Silva shared his thoughts on the game. He commended Southampton for their strong performance and reflected on the challenges Manchester City faced in securing the win.
Bernardo Silva said, “We have a lot of respect for all the teams in the Premier League. (We have) a lot of respect for the way they play. They press high and build up with the ball. They have a lot of really good patterns which make it very difficult to press them. If you go man to man then they find the space in the middle. It’s not easy for our defenders and they have fast guys up front. It was a tough game for us but we are very happy with the three points. We are used to it now a little bit when teams defend deep against us. They always defend with a line of 5-4-1, more or less. That makes it more difficult and we have to be patient. We had chances to make it three or four but they also deserve credit for what they did here today.”
