Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson insists that the Eagles will be aiming to give the fans what they deserve when the Premier League returns later this month. The Eagles, like all top-flight clubs, are preparing for the return of the Premier League over the next few weeks, and Palace will travel to Bournemouth to resume their campaign. However, Palace boss Roy Hodgson has said the Eagles will be doing all they can to give their fans something to cheer from home.
Roy Hodgson said “We don’t take our fans in any way for granted. The support we have both home and away is quite incredible really – it’s the lifeblood of the club no question of that, The work our foundation does in the community that is also vitally important and something that no-one underestimates in any way. It’s going to be hard for them, because, also they can’t really physically support us until such time as fans are let back in the stadium. But it’s good to know that they are there. Even though we can’t see them, even though we don’t have the benefit, sometimes, raucous and vociferous support, we know that that support is there. We know it’s just waiting to be tapped into again when they’re allowed back in the stadium. We are certainly very conscious of every time we take the field and the players put on their Crystal Palace shirt, that they’re doing for a fan base which is really deserving, if you like. I can only assure them that that’s going to continue to be the case and to thank them of course for the support they have given us during the three years I have been at the club and I know it goes back a lot deeper than that, and to hope that we can find a way during this strange time, to still find some way of transmitting that support and that love for the club that they have, because we are so much aware of it.”
