Brendan Rodgers wants Leicester City supporters to know he is going into the new season dreaming of the heights the club can reach. The City manager does not want to put limits on the ambition of the club heading into the new campaign, with excitement set to ramp up this week when the Premier League fixtures for 2022-23 are released on Thursday morning.
Brendan Rodgers said: “I go into every season to dream, and I think that’s important as the manager to relay that to supporters. We look to be the best we can be. We’ll come back in pre-season and there’s great hope there for the supporters. For us, it’s going to be about coaching and maximising what we can out of the talents we bring into the club. Since I came in here, whatever money I have or don’t have, I’ll always fight to disrupt the top teams, the bigger clubs in this league, that’s always the ambition. The ambition is to disrupt the market, get back our football and with more time on the coaching field and less pandemic, hopefully then we can get that level consistently back again.”
City’s first fixture of the new season will be on the weekend of August 6/7, with the Premier League shuffled forward a week to accommodate the staging of the World Cup in Qatar in the winter.
