Former manager Chris Wilder, the man who persuaded Berge to join the Blades last year, spoke about the midfielder’s future prior to departing Bramall Lane.
Chris Wilder said: “I think this [Sheffield United] has always been a springboard for Sander. He wants to play at the highest level, he wants to play Champions League regularly and he wants to play for a top team.”
In his most recent interview with the media, Berge himself gave little away regarding his future.
Sander Berge said: “It makes me smile when I see that picture and when I think about it. It’s a special moment and something that was with me during lockdown when it was not the easiest period, not a great period and I didn’t feel I had played so well. Not having fans is hard but knowing they are watching every week we want to show them that we still play for them. That was a very special moment for me and I miss that and I hope I get to feel that again soon.”
