Facundo Buonanotte scored the only goal of the game against AFC Bournemouth last time out. He danced his way into the area and smashed the ball past Kepa Arrizabalaga. The Foxes wanted a penalty when Illia Zabarnyi appeared to handle the ball in the area, but referee Darren Bond waved the claims away. Bournemouth then piled on the pressure in the second half. Despite this, Leicester managed to hold on, leaving the Saints among just four teams without a win at the bottom of the table ahead of the meeting at St Mary’s on Saturday, October 19.

Steve Cooper was relieved to get his first win heading into the latest break.

Steve Cooper said, “I feel happy for the players, equally as happy for the supporters and staff. Steve Cooper has his first #PremierLeague win of the season with Leicester! I’ve seen many win here, I would have loved for it to be sooner, we know that. We could have done some things better but we’ve also been unlucky, so I’m just glad everything went well. It’s great to win but we have a lot of work to do to be a force. That’s my really big motivation because it’ll show how much I really want to be here and how much I want to get this job right with the players. Feeling the atmosphere here, it’s been good. We really needed the supporters in the second half and there were times when the crowd backed us. We needed that.”
