Tottenham Hotspur are still looking to complete the signing of Inter Milan and Argentina star Lautaro Martinez this month. On his abilities he said,
Lautaro Martinez said: “The coach trusts me as well as all the staff and teammates. I always try to do my best, sometimes the ball goes in and sometimes it doesn’t. A striker lives for scoring goals, but I always give everything for the team regardless of my personal rewards. Wearing the Albiceleste shirt is the best thing there is for me. Now we play Ecuador, a tough opponent: we want to continue in the Copa America in the best possible way.”
Martinez, however, did struggle with some discipline issues in the 2019/20 season – where the Inter forward picked up 11 yellow cards in all competitions. The Argentine revealed earlier in the summer that he worked with a psychologist in order to improve on this area of his game.
Lautaro Martinez said: “I am at a very important stage of my career, and this year I’ve felt something I hadn’t known before. I am happy and satisfied with my career, everything I do at Inter is helping me with the national team. I am improving physically, I’ve trained carefully to get into peak shape. It was more complicated to work on my mentality. Becoming a father has helped me to solve many things off the pitch. A psychologist has helped me to protest less and collect fewer yellow cards. Check the stats and you can see I’ve improved. A new season is on the horizon and so is the 2022 World Cup.”
