#PLStories- Burnley loaned goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell reveals joy of helping Sheffield Wednesday promotion #BURNLEYFC #SWFC

BAILEY Peacock-Farrell reckons he has “improved massively” since going out on loan to Sheffield Wednesday. The Northern Ireland international has been a regular starter for the Yorkshire club in League One this season. He has also continued to represent his country, with his last international appearance coming in a 1-0 win against Lithuania back in November. Peacock-Farrell insists going out on loan has had a big impact on his development and is keen to keep improving in the coming weeks. “All football players want to be playing week in, week out,” he told the Sheffield Star. “You can’t really beat the feeling of being number one and helping your team every single week or twice a week. "It’s a great feeling to be a part of it. I feel like I’m doing well, there’s room to improve as always and get better. "I want more from myself and there are still things that can be achieved this season, it’s not done yet.” Darren Moore’s men are currently sixth in the league table as they bid to make an immediate return to the Championship. Peacock-Farrell has ambitions of becoming an established Premier League goalkeeper but insists that right now his main focus is helping the Owls secure promotion. "It would mean a lot," he added. "To get a promotion under your belt and help this club get back to the level it deserves and kick on from there. "It's a great achievement for any player that they can look back on their career and see they got promotion at any level. It’s something that you look forward to.” Clarets on social, plus take out a subscription... #PLStories- Burnley goalkeeper #BaileyPeacockFarrell signs season-long deal at Sheffield Wednesday #BURNLEYFC #SHWFC

Burnley goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell has signed a season-long loan deal with League One side Sheffield Wednesday. The Northern Ireland will spend the 2021/22 campaign at Hillsborough for the chance to get regular first-team football under his belt. Peacock-Farrell signed from Leeds United two years ago and made his first appearances for the club last season, starting eight games in all competitions, including four in the Premier League, deputising for Nick Pope. With Pope on his way back to full fitness and free agent Wayne Hennessey brought in as competition earlier this month, Sean Dyche has decided to grant Wednesday’s request to take Peacock-Farrell on loan, with Will Norris also part of the club’s goalkeeping ranks. There had been interest from Championship clubs in the ‘keeper who has won 23 caps for Northern Ireland. He is the second Burnley goalkeeper to leave on loan in this window, following Lukas Jensen in making a temporary switch, after he signed for League Two side Carlisle United. Goalkeeping coach Billy Mercer, formerly of the Owls, said: “It’s a great opportunity for him to go and play a lot of games at probably the biggest club in that league who be looking to challenge for promotion. “Having brought Wayne in to complement the group we already had we have plenty of cover, so we felt it was the right club at the right time for him to go and play some games. “Hopefully he will get as many games as possible and come back and be pushing for the No.1 spot.”
