It was a black Wednesday in Sheffield as Trevor Francis’s struggling side squandered a three-goal lead against Norwich. Wednesday, who had only scored once in their previous five games, looked in to be in control after hitting three in 11 minutes but the Canaries took only 14 minutes to get back into the game.

Chris Bart William set the ball rolling in the 51st minute. Mark Bright rapped in Wednesday’s second and in the 62nd minute Andy Sinton drove in his first since arriving from QPR. A minute later Mark Bowen hammered home a spectacular 30 yard shot and in the 72nd-minute sub, Efan Ekoku hit City’s second. Chris Sutton finally equalized for the visitors in the 76th minute.
