Alexander Isak’s first-half header was pivotal as the Magpies secured their most impressive win of the season, defeating Arsenal 1-0 at St James’ Park. Shay Given, who was present on BBC One’s Football Focus at the time, became part of a memorable moment upon learning about Newcastle taking the lead.

Somers, the TV host, said, “I’m going to let you in on a little secret live on BBC One, it’s been a bit chaotic in the studio. Shay Given has just broken part of the set, why have you broken part of the set?”

Shay Given explained, “I just kicked the table by mistake so I must apologise. Why did I do that, because Isak has just scored against Arsenal. A brilliant cross from Anthony Gordon, Isak header, top corner, 1-0 to the Toon,” proudly stated the 48-year-old.

Manager Eddie Howe said “It was 95 minutes of concentration and consistency in our attitude. We managed and controlled some very good players pretty well today.”
