Rio Ferdinand believes Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp ‘just needs to get on with it’ as his frustration grows with the congested fixture schedule. The Reds were beaten by Atalanta 2-0 on Wednesday evening, three days after they defeated Leicester City in the Premier League. Klopp is now looking ahead to Saturday – where his side travel to Brighton and Hove Albion for the early kick-off – meaning the champions will have played three games in less than six days. But former Manchester United defender Ferdinand believes Liverpool are better equipped than the majority of teams in the Premier League.
Rio Ferdinand said “You can look at it both ways. Everyone is in the same boat, really, it doesn’t make it right, but you’ve just got to get on with it, If you look at Liverpool’s squad, the depth of their squad, they’re sitting in a better position than most because of the depth they have. They’ve had a few injuries as well, but it’s a challenge. You can understand his frustrations, I don’t think he’s the only person, but he’s just the loudest one speaking at the moment.”
