How is Tyrone?

“We don’t know exactly about his injury, but it doesn’t look good. Tomorrow we will scan him. [After] The first analysis, the doctor is telling us we have to wait for the scan, but it doesn’t look good.”

Did Tyrone go to hospital?

“It doesn’t look good after the first scan which the doctor did. We are going to wait until tomorrow for the scan. We are going to do that in the hospital tomorrow.”

Was that a shock?

“We were excited and optimistic before the match, knowing it’s a difficult match. We are feeling strong with the supporters and the structure. They are a very physical team and when they are scoring the first goal their transition is very dangerous.

“We were playing and controlling the match in the first half, but in the second half after they scored it was the moment we didn’t react good. If we scored with Matty Cash’s chance maybe we could get some options, but at the end 5-1 is a little bit more than we deserved. They deserved to win, but not like that.

“The injuries make it even more tough with Emi and Tyrone because we are losing two very important players for today in the match and the next weeks.”

How pleased were you with Diaby’s performance?

“It was good news to watch Moussa playing and feeling good. His adaptation in the position we are trying to get with him was good and he scored and played well. We played with some moments in 90 minutes, but there a lot of things to do in 90 minutes, we have to play and avoid the mistakes. We have to control the match with our positioning and we did do that being consistent.”

Are you gutted about the scoreline?

“When we were in the game with possibilities to score one goal and draw we were optimistic. The injury of Tyrone and the first goal was a tough moment and our reaction after those circumstances, they didn’t work like we were thinking.”

Were you concerned about the last 10 minutes?

“Yes, but I know it’s very difficult for the players. They were trying to attack and get into the box. We did have some chances too and the players were excited to do something, like Coutinho and Jaden. In the transition, the speedy players they have, they were very dangerous and that was the problem. We knew it and those are the circumstances which are very difficult to stop. We were aware of that after last year, but to lose here 5-1 is bigger than normal. Newcastle are feeling strong here. They were very consistent across 90 minutes and we weren’t.”
