The remarkable talents of Wolverhampton Wanderers wonderkid Pedro Neto are no longer a secret. Neto, who recently turned 21, has enjoyed an outstanding season for Wolves and is well in contention to win the PFA Player of the Year award. The Portugal international has contributed five goals and five assists this term, with three of his strikes giving Wolves Premier League victories. He’s also among the league’s most prolific chance creators. For most Wolves fans Neto is a certainty to win the club’s annual Player of the Year award, and midfielder Ruben Neves recently put his weight behind his compatriot too. I think this season he has been the best player we have in the squad. He can give us a lot of things. It's not easy to find a player like him." In response, Neto said: “It means a lot. One of the best things in football is to be recognised, especially by your teammates, because that is the best feeling. “That’s because they play too, they know what we are doing and they know what I do all day, so to hear Ruben say that was an unbelievable feeling. I hope to continue to help my team, so they continue to recognise my game. “I don’t think about being the best, all I want to do is help my teammates, to come here every day to enjoy the day with them, enjoy playing with them, and then I will let other people talk about me. “If they say I’ve been the best, then it’s good to be recognised, but I will focus on my game.” Neto has played a large portion of this season on the left of Wolves’ attack, a position previously occupied by Diogo Jota. I feel good in myself, so when I go to the game, I always try to give a goal or an assist to help the team. This is the most important.” Read More Related Articles Read More Related Articles

#PL Stories- #RubenNeves missed the birth of his son to help Wolves beat Arsenal #WolvesFC

Ruben Neves has revealed that he watched the birth of his third child on his phone to ensure he avoided missing any of Wolverhampton Wanderers' crucial matches. The midfielder's wife Debora gave birth to their son Mateo on Saturday but due to coronavirus travel restrictions, Neves couldn't return to Portugal to witness it. "I watched it on my phone on the coach when we were coming back from Crystal Palace," Neves said after helping Wolves secure a 2-1 win over Arsenal on Tuesday. "It's not easy to be honest, it's really hard. It's really hard to not be there for an amazing moment for my family. Video Loading Video Unavailable Click to play Tap to play The video will auto-play soon8Cancel "Of course I wanted to be there but that's the world we live in at the moment. So we need to get used to it. We need to do everything we can to solve things because we are in big problems. "My wife went to Portugal because her doctor is from there. She had problems with our first baby so we always want to go with the same doctor. So that's why it was our decision to have the baby in Portugal." Neves dedicated his equalising penalty against the Gunners to Debora and newborn son Mateo before helping Wolves seal their first win in nine Premier League games in the second half.
