Bruno Lage joined Wolverhampton Wanderers as an unknown quantity in the summer. But results have spoken for themselves since he took over from Portuguese compatriot, Nuno Espirito Santo. Ruben Neves believes the club’s warm welcome towards its players and staff is what has made the difference for Lage whom he says had no problems adapting and therefore league results have flourished.
Ruben Neves said: “It’s going well. Wolves is a club that is very welcoming. Every player or new coach, anyone that arrives at the club for whatever position will feel at home because we have a very good working group. I’m not just saying this because I’m a player here but I say it because it’s the reality. Anybody that comes here, whether they’re a player, staff, a cooking chef, everyone is very welcome and likes to work here. We have a spectacular group because the club is ambitious and that gives us a big motivation to work. Having said that, I don’t think Lage had any problems adapting to Wolves. And also the squad helps, and like he’s said before, he works with players that always want to learn, players that are always willing to evolve and the coach’s willingness also captivates us. He wants to get the best out of us and is never pleased. That is of course, extremely important for us.”
