Brentford defender Pontus Jansson has opened up on the emotions he felt when Leeds United after putting all of his ‘soul’ into the club. With Jansson set to make just his second appearance against his former club since leaving, and first in the Premier League, he has discussed the array of emotions he felt in the wake of his departure.
Pontus Jansson said: “When I did it, it was a bit hard and emotional. I put all that I had into that club. I always do that, whatever team I play for I put the whole of my soul and the whole of my body into it. I loved every second of my career at Leeds, when I left it was a bit sad to leave all my friends, the fanbase and everyone that liked me there but now it’s three years since and you start to forget. Now I love every second of my football career here. I’m a Premier League player now for Brentford and creating history here. I wouldn’t change that with anyone because in football that is how it is – there are different stages of your career.”
