Newcastle United have set their sights on Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, with the forward likely to leave the Bees this summer. Christian Norgaard said: “I am calm with what might happen with Bryan [Mbeumo] and [Yoane] Wissa because a lot of questions are asked about them and you can almost feel the worries around the place when you talk about them maybe leaving us. I, for one, feared we would lose Ollie Watkins, Said Benrahma, Ivan Toney, so it continues [without them]. I think Bryan is likely to go, I don’t know with Wissa yet, everyone is hoping he might stay. Either way, I am happy with the season they have both had because they deserve it.”
Brentford have enjoyed a strong season in the Premier League, even after losing former Newcastle striker Ivan Toney to Al-Ahli for £40 million.
