Tottenham striker Harry Kane has invited a pair of fans who travelled all the way from America to Burnley to a home match in the future after the game against Sean Dyche’s side was postponed. The game was set to be played on Sunday afternoon, but weather interfered. Heavy snowfall in Lancashire meant that the game had to be postponed, with the pitch covered in a blanket of snow despite the best efforts of those trying to clear it.
Antonio Conte stated: “We are disappointed that we didn’t play today and also for you, our fans. We know that you had a long journey to come to Burnley and watch the game. Thank you for this. We are looking forward to seeing you on Thursday.”
Whilst many made the long journey from London to Lancashire, one couple made an even longer trip before the game was called off.
