Leicester City midfielder Callum Wright has spoken about the advice he received from Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.
Callum Wright said: “He (Gerrard) spoke to me about getting out of Liverpool being a good thing to focus and concentrate. The school we both went to was the main football one in the area and we pretty much used to win all the competitions at every age group really. It’s been my dream to follow Gerrard for as long as I can remember.”
Wright is currently on loan at Cheltenham Town – his second spell at the League One side – and the 21-year-old has ambitions to play for the first team at Leicester after joining the club from Blackburn Rovers in 2018. Both Wright and Gerrard went to the same school in Liverpool and the former Reds captain is a player Wright has always looked up to.
