Nobody yet knows where Moise Kean will play his football this season but already Everton have made the right call. Kean will either leave for a hefty fee, hopefully a healthy profit on the initial £25.1m Everton paid Juventus to sign the striker in August 2019, or, he will still stay at Goodison Park, bolstering the forward ranks in Rafa Benitez’s team. Either result would be a positive for the Toffees. The 21-year-old may well be trying to force through a move to the French giants but as Rafa Benitez said following the striker’s goal in Thursday’s 1-0 win over Pumas in the Florida Cup, the harder he tries to impress on the pitch, the better it is for Everton.
Rafa Benitez said: “It is important for a striker to score so it is good news for him, good news for us. The problem with the transfer window is that it finishes at the end of August so you will be still playing games and you have to make decisions on players, so that is important for them to understand that they have to carry on and for him to score goals is the best way to make his point.”
So far, it is Everton who have made their point.
