Aguero is facing a battle to be fit for either game after feeling something in his leg before Newcastle and even if he is available Guardiola admits he will have to be cold about whether to select the 32-year-old or not.
Pep Guardiola said: “Right now he is injured so now he’s not fit. I would say I would be cold. I have to take a decision which is the best to win that game. I believe that if Sergio is fit he is going to help us, that is for sure. If he is going to help us score goals he is going to play, but it’s the final of the Champions League. I have to take the decision that gives us the best chance of winning that game. He has niggles. He’s a little bit disturbed in his leg, his adductor. He felt something before the Newcastle game. Today he’s still not fit. Hopefully he’ll be ready to play against Everton.”
Sergio Aguero is running out of time to give himself a fitting farewell at Manchester City as he prepares to leave the club. Then comes the Champions League final in Porto, one of the biggest games in the history of the club and a match that their record scorer has toiled to make a difference in since he joined back in 2011.
