Graham Potter admits a last-gasp FA Cup exit was hard to take. But he believes Albion will reflect on a decent performance when the disappointment of defeat eases. The Seagulls went down to a single Kelechi Iheanacho goal in their fifth-round tie at Leicester City. A much-changed side had seemed set to go to an extra 30 minutes until they were punished for unusually poor defending at a corner in added time.
Graham Potter said: “We did a lot of things well but it’s hard to think about that because we are so disappointed to lose. I probably thought we were the better team over the 90 minutes. They had some really good substitutions but, even there, I thought we managed the game quite well. At the moment the feeling is one of disappointment because we lost. But also I feel positive about the performance the group. It was a quite young team so I think we will be happy with that as time goes on. At the moment we are just a bit sore because of the last-kick-of-the game defeat.”
