Referee David Coote fights back on allegations after getting sacked by Premier League

David Coote’s actions were under scrutiny due to breaches of his employment contract. His position was determined to be untenable, leading PGMOL to terminate his employment. He was suspended in November after allegations of using derogatory language about Jurgen Klopp.

David Coote said “I strongly refute these false and defamatory allegations”

Further controversy emerged when a clip allegedly showing Coote snorting a white substance was leaked. Additionally, the Football Association was investigating claims that Coote discussed showing a yellow card with a fan before a Championship match. Coote denied these allegations.

David Coote said “Whatever issues I may have had in my personal life they have never affected my decision-making on the field. I have always held the integrity of the game in the highest regard, refereeing matches impartially and to the best of my ability”
