The Seagulls played out a 2-2 draw. Albion controlled the match after scoring their second goal but could not secure the win. Despite showing impressive spells of possession and solid defense, missed opportunities and a lack of ruthlessness late in the game allowed Wolves to equalize. Albion had a chance to score a decisive third goal but failed to capitalize, leaving head coach Huerzeler frustrated with the result.
Fabian Huerzeler said, “In the end, of course we lost two points, and we failed today in our development. We have to learn quickly from this. Games like this, if you don’t win in the beautiful way, then you have to win in the ugly way. Until the second goal from us, we controlled the game and we defended quite well, and we became too passive. But we were not ruthless enough in defending the set-pieces, we had a big chance to go for a third goal that we missed this, and we were punished. We were not acting professionally and we need to learn from this. This team is very young with a lot of potential but exactly these moments show if you stay now together, if you learn from it, if you show personality, if you show character, and that is what I expect from them.”
