Matty Cash has expressed the positive impact Tyrone Mings is having in training ahead of his potential return to Aston Villa’s squad for their Champions League clash against Bologna. Mings, who wasn’t included in the recent squad against Fulham despite being fit, has been praised for his dedication to getting back in shape. Simultaneously, Boubacar Kamara, who also experienced an ACL injury last season, might earn some playing minutes after recovering. The team is gearing up for a busy schedule, playing six matches in the next 18 days, and it’s crucial for each player to concentrate on one game at a time.
Matty Cash said, “Tyrone has worked so hard to get back fit. It has obviously taken him a little bit longer. Every time I have seen him he is in the gym doing prehab! He looks in really good shape and we are looking forward to integrating him and to have him back. Boubacar being back is massive for us too. He [Mings] has always been a beast. He looks good, really good and sharp. I’m sure he will start racking up his minutes soon. We’re meeting after this press conference and we will probably be there for an hour and a half, but if you want to play in big games to be successful you have to take it all in. The manager’s record in European football is amazing and I hope we can have a good result tomorrow. The game nowadays is so tactical that when you have a manager like Emery who knows it inside out it helps and you can see how well drilled we are tactically over two years and that’s why we’ve had good results against very tough opponents. We have to do it on the pitch but we are given the info to go and perform.”
