David Moyes Confident in Evertons Transfer Market Support Ahead of Goodison Park Farewell

Everton is on the brink of a transformative period as they prepare to bid farewell to their historic home at Goodison Park and transition to the state-of-the-art Bramley-Moore Dock stadium. With a significant portion of the squad, including loan players, out of contract this summer, manager David Moyes is keen to reshape the team and inject more goals into the lineup. Moyes expressed optimism about the club’s ability to strengthen in the upcoming transfer window, thanks to backing from the club’s owners, The Friedkin Group.

David Moyes said: “I think we will be [well supported]. So there is a lot of things we are trying to put in place. I’ve got a good idea of what the club needs and what the people want. And moving to a new stadium and what it’s going to mean for them as well. I suspect us to be well supported in the transfer market. I don’t think it will be outrageous, but I think we’ll be able to do a bit of business.”

Moyes’ comments came during a live appearance on talkSPORT, where he discussed the club’s future plans and the impending move to Bramley-Moore Dock. The Everton boss emphasized the importance of this transition and the need to align the squad with the club’s ambitions in their new era. The final match at Goodison Park is set for this Sunday, marking the end of an era for both the club and its supporters.

David Moyes also stated: “All the Evertonians have been waiting for this for a long, long time now. Even since I was there for the first time, they were talking about a new stadium move, we were gonna get a new ground. But it’s about to happen now.”

The farewell to Goodison Park is not only a significant moment for the club but also for the fans, who have been an integral part of the stadium’s storied history. To commemorate this occasion, the Liverpool Echo has released a special souvenir edition, capturing the essence of Goodison’s rich past and its impact on the football community.

As Everton prepares for their final game at Goodison against Southampton, Moyes highlighted the importance of focusing on the match itself, despite the emotional weight of the occasion. He described the upcoming fixture as the “biggest game of the season” for his players, underscoring the need to balance sentiment with the competitive demands of the sport.

Moyes remarked: “We’ve got to try and win at Goodison, that’s the next job. How can we show it? Not let the day take over because we have to win the football match, more importantly. But there’s also other things there, as well, and we know we’re going to leave Goodison after it and move on. It’ll be a big day for us. [It’s the] biggest game of the season for the players.”

The transition to Bramley-Moore Dock represents a new chapter for Everton, with Moyes and the club’s management looking to build a squad capable of achieving success in their new home. The support from The Friedkin Group is expected to play a crucial role in this endeavor, as Everton aims to strengthen their position in the Premier League.
