The 22-year-old goalkeeper joined the Blues from Manchester City for an undisclosed fee last summer. Since his arrival, he has featured in Carabao Cup victories against Bristol Rovers and Reading. Slicker, a Scotland U21 international, currently finds himself providing backup to Aro Muric and Christian Walton in Kieran McKenna’s squad.
Reflecting on his first year at the club, Slicker expressed his gratitude and optimism about his future.
Cieran Slicker said “The club has put trust in me, which is a real positive. I have only been here a year, but the relationships I’ve built during that time have made me feel at home. I think I’ve improved a lot and my development is on an upward trajectory. I know it’s going to take a lot of hard work to keep going and keep pushing to where I want to get to. There’s a big season ahead and I am really excited for it.”
Slicker joins Wes Burns, Christian Walton, and Sam Morsy in committing their futures to the club, signing new deals following the team’s promotion to the Premier League. Club boss Kieran McKenna recently revealed that there are ‘conversations ongoing’ with other squad members about fresh contracts.
