Boss Steve Cooper is confident Nottingham Forest’s position in the Premier League table will not affect their ability to attract quality signings in January.
Steve Copper said: “There is always context to a time and a situation. The context in the summer is a lot different to now. We hoped to be in a much better league position than we are in. But at the same time, it could have been a worse situation, that is for sure. The objective is to really improve on that league position, but that is one game at a time and points by points as they come along. But what I think we have been able to show is the atmosphere at the stadium and the size and history of the club, and the uniqueness about it. People have been able to see that on a bigger stage. They have seen our intentions in terms of how we want to play and go about our work, and obviously the more time we can spend together in committing to that plan, you hope it is small steps. There will be ups and downs along the way, but if we are interested in a player and they are interested in looking us up, hopefully they will see our positive and good intentions. That is how it should be, because at this level you have to have a plan and show who you are and be proud of that. If that fits with a player wanting to come then great, if it doesn’t then we will move on to the next one.”
