Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard has outlined some of the qualities he admires in Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
Steven Gerrard said: “He is so calm. He has total belief in his team. He has suffered a bit in finals and has bounced back. He told Liverpool fans he wanted to change them from doubters to believers – he truly has aligned the club from top to bottom.”
The Villa boss also commented on the culture at Liverpool, started by the owner’s appointment of Klopp, something that he could look to replicate at Villa.
Steven Gerrard added: “I don’t think you can underestimate the part the owners have played – they have come in and recruited Klopp who has instilled the culture. It’s a combination of different things. But it also takes setbacks and pain to build resistance and come back. Real Madrid will have to go above and beyond to win tonight.”
After a 14th place finish in the Premier League last season, Villa are already starting their plan for next season. The club have confirmed the captures of Philippe Coutinho, Boubacar Kamara and Diego Carlos ahead of the summer transfer window as Gerrard is backed by the club.
