Andros Townsend has spoken out about the impact Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson has had on his career. The Palace boss gave Townsend his England debut during his time as Three Lions manager, and the winger has been an important man for Hodgson in his time at Selhurst Park.
Andros Townsend said: “I’ve made no secret of my admiration for Roy Hodgson and what he’s done for my career. He’s been incredible for Crystal Palace. He’s given us stability that we needed and he’s given us that safety, we know he’s not going to get us relegated, he’s been in the game long enough to know what it takes to not get relegated and he’s given us that Premier League stability and hopefully when the season does resume we can kick on and have a really successful season.
Andros Townsend has not featured as regularly this season under the former West Bromwich Albion manager, with just 16 appearances so far during the campaign. But Townsend has spoken about what he has done for him during the course of his career, and what the manager brings to Crystal Palace and the players.
