Graham Potter Brighton

#PLStories- #GrahamPotter says draw is a fair result against West Ham #BHAFC

Albion head coach Graham Potter felt a draw was a fair result for Albion as they were held by West Ham at the Amex. The Seagulls took the lead in the 84th minute through Danny Welbeck, but a late strike from substitute Said Benrahma meant West Ham took a point back to London. But Potter felt a point was a fair reflection of the game. He said: "You are always a little bit disappointed when you are 1-0 up with not so long to go. "But at the same time I think over the course of the game a draw is a fair result. "I cannot say we deserved necessarily anything more. "I thought West Ham were better than us in the first half, they created some more danger than we did. "But we were okay in the first half, we were better in the second half but overall the boys did well."
David Moyes

#PLStories- #DavidMoyes says exceptional #LewisDunk will be sorely missed by Albion #BHAFC #WHUFC

West Ham manager David Moyes believes Albion will be tough to break down at the Amex tonight (8pm), but believes the absence of the “exceptional” Lewis Dunk could play into their hands. Graham Potter’s side have an impressive defensive record this season, despite being 17th in the table. Only Arsenal (38), Chelsea (33) and Manchester City (29) have conceded fewer goals in the Premier League this season than Albion (41). Despite that impressive record the Seagulls will be without Dunk, after he was shown a straight red in the 2-1 defeat to Wolves on Sunday. Moyes believes the 29-year-old will be sorely missed. He told The Argus: “It will be very tough, but I also think they go into the game without Lewis Dunk, who I think has been exceptional for them this season and has been for them in other seasons. “We have had to play the last six or more games without Declan Rice. “I would think if Brighton were playing a lot of the games without Lewis Dunk they might find it more difficult. “So who knows what will happen? “But Brighton are a hard team to beat. I went down and watched them a few weeks ago against Everton at the Amex and they played very well and I have been impressed by them so far this season.” Potter’s side have already secured their top flight status for next season, with three games to go after Fulham were beaten by Burnley on Monday and were relegated. But with the Seagulls being able to go into their final three matches with no pressure on them to get anything, will that make them a more dangerous opponent? Moyes told The Argus: “It can do, it is a difficult thing to weigh up in football. “We had a situation last season where we had the last game against Aston Villa, when we were already staying up and we could not raise ourselves. “So it can happen for no reason, so sometimes you are never sure with football. “But I think with Brighton they will know they have had a good season, but will be hoping they might have done better and not be floating around the bottom where we were last season. “They have got a really good, young and upcoming manager with a lot of good ideas in Graham. “But he will start to get some wrinkles really quick, like we all do when we have been in the game a long while. “But when you have too many years down the bottom it starts to grind you down a bit. “But it will be a really tough game against them.” Former Albion midfielder Jesse Lingard returns to the Amex tonight in fine form. The 28-year-old has impressed since joining West Ham, on loan from Manchester United in January. He has scored nine goals and got three assists in his 13 appearances for the Hammers. Last month he scored four goals in his just four games for Moyes’ side. That form saw Lingard named as the Premier League’s player of the month for April and his solo goal against Wolves won him the goal of the month as well. But Moyes believes he has thoroughly deserved the accolades he has got. He said: “His performances have been really good. “I have to say he has excelled and probably done better than we hoped when we first brought him in. “But you mustn’t forget Jesse has joined a good team, that was playing well when he came in and were near the top of the league. “So hopefully we have helped Jesse as well. Declan Rice, Aaron Cresswell, Mark Noble and Manuel Lanzini are all doubts for the trip to the Amex, but Moyes is hopeful some of them may be available tonight. He said: “Some of them are doing well, some of them aren’t doing so well, but I’m hoping to get some of them back for the game. “I’d rate Dec’s chances the same as Cresswell, Ogbonna and the rest of them. I wouldn’t want to give anything away.”
Ralph Hasenhuttl

#PLStories- #RalphHasenhuttl believes that Saints are getting better and better #SAINTSFC

RALPH Hasenhuttl hailed his side's "very good performance" against Fulham, adding: "They are getting better and better." Saints sealed back-to-back Premier League victories for the first time since December, sweeping aside the relegated Cottagers 3-1 at St Mary's thanks to goals from Che Adams, Nathan Tella and Theo Walcott. It follows Tuesday's win against Crystal Palace by the same score-line. Discussing the victory over Fulham, Hasenhuttl said: "I must say that I was very pleased about my side today. They showed a very good performance. "They are getting better and better. It is not a coincidence we have scored 10 goals in our past four home games. "It is definitely a part of our game that has developed since we have more opportunities, more players coming back. Also the subs today had that impact in the game, this is what you need also sometimes when the game is tight. "We were always speaking this season about dropping points, but it is also helpful when you have from the bench a few guys that can hold their level how. Nathan Tella, Theo and Ibra (Diallo) today did a good job. This is what you need in such a moment."
Nathan Tella

#PLStories- #RalphHasenhuttl says #NathanTella first Saints goal was a ‘special moment’ #SAINTSFC

RALPH Hasenhuttl expressed his delight at Nathan Tella breaking his Saints duck, describing his first Premier League goal as a "special moment". The joy was clear to see for the 21-year-old, when he swept home a Kyle Walker-Peters cross against Fulham at St Mary's, just two minutes after coming off the bench as a substitute. Tella went on to provide an assist for Theo Walcott, who added to Che Adams's early goal to secure a 3-1 victory for Saints. Reflecting on former Arsenal youngster Tella's strike, Hasenhuttl said: "It is time that he scores his first goal. I think he had a few good opportunities so far, but the way he was working for the team today, he deserves a goal. "I am very happy for him and for his assist for Theo." He added: "I had never the feeling that he was under pressure because he had not scored a goal. I think when you see him working for the team, this is normal that he sometimes comes in this situation. "I must say that how we created this goal was something we were working on all the time and the ball behind the last line, Stuey (Armstrong)'s ball to Kyle and then Kyle in behind the last line was what we were talking about. It was exactly the game plan we had and I am very happy that Nathan scored the goal." Asked if this will be a moment Tella will never forget, having battled back from a serious knee injury during his time in Saints' academy, Hasenhuttl added: "Definitely not. I think he’s now on the scorers list in the Premier League, it’s a special moment for him as a striker. "The smile on his face is always there. This is what I really like from him because he enjoys working for the team, he enjoys training with us and he enjoys every day when he is allowed to play football. "Maybe this ACL injury can link to understand how special it is to be part of a Premier League team. "He is a very big talent from our academy and a signal for all the other players that are coming up that there is always a chance."
Adam Webster Brighton

#PLStories- #AdamWebster reveals frustration after Albion let another lead slip against West Ham #BHAFC

Adam Webster believes Albion must hold onto leads if they are going to kick on in the future. The Seagulls drew 1-1 at the Amex against West Ham, despite going ahead through Danny Welbeck's 50th Premier League goal. They have now dropped 25 points from winning positions this season, which is the most in the division and Webster admits things need to change. He said: “I don’t know if I am right but I think we have dropped the most points in the league from winning positions and that has got to change moving forward, if we really want to kick on as a club. “It is frustrating as it has happened too often this season.”
