Dyche hints at Peacock-Farrell outing
Burnley manager Sean Dyche has been speaking to the media today ahead of his side’s hosting of Leeds United this weekend. The Clarets boss admitted that first-choice goalkeeper and England international Nick Pope had suffered a few injuries of late, which could hand stand-in Bailey Peacock-Farrell a Leeds reunion. Northern Irishman Peacock-Farrell signed for Burnley in 2018, having been No. 1 at Elland Road for a short period. This season, the ex-Leeds stopper has made three Premier League appearances, conceding ten goals in the process.
Sean Dyche said: “Popey has had a couple of niggles.”
Peacock-Farrell has been on the bench for the past three games, but started back-to-back fixtures in defeats to Newcastle and Manchester United last month.
Sean Dyche added: “Robbie Brady and Kevin Long are not going to be right. They are the only ones that spring to mind with Bardo [Phil Bardsley] and his hernia. Dale Stephens has a situation that we will be checking on.”
Bamford reveals rare Bielsa temper
Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford has revealed the one occasion this season where manager Marcelo Bielsa lost his cool in the dressing room. Four-nil down at half-time to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, Bielsa is said to have let his feelings be known to the players – admittedly in Spanish – which was then required to be translated by sidekick Andres Clavijo.
Patrick Bamford said: “To be honest I’ve never seen him [Bielsa] hammer someone individually. When we played Arsenal away at half-time, he came in and he was fuming. He shouted, doing it all in Spanish, and then the translator has to translate it…”
