Former Leicester City defender Harry Maguire has reacted to his old side’s FA Cup final win. Writing on social media platform Instagram,
Harry Maguire said: “Vichai will be smiling. Congratulations LCFC.”
Maguire was referencing the deceased owner of the club, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, who passed away in a helicopter crash in 2018 during Maguire’s time at the club. City boss Brendan Rodgers toasted an historic day for the club.
Brendan Rodgers said: “I’ve been in six finals before and been lucky enough to win them, so today has been the seventh and it is the FA Cup, so it’s truly special. As a British coach it means so much to us. I am so proud but I am more happier for everyone else. The success of this team and club is getting to positions like this and competing. The so-called bigger clubs are expected to win the trophies but, for us, our success is competing and if we can perform like today we can then go and win. It was a monumental performance, and what a day for everyone involved with Leicester.”
