Wolves have been granted extra leeway by UEFA as they look to cram their recently postponed games into their Premier League schedule. Bruno Lage’s side saw the festive fixtures against Watford and Arsenal called off due to Covid-19 issues and must now find midweek slots for both games. Amid a busy schedule, that would not be an easy task, although it has been made easier after UEFA granted the Premier League permission to reschedule postponed Premier League matches for Champions League nights.
UEFA statement said: “UEFA is aware of the difficulty of the situation and that the match calendar is highly impacted by Covid. As a general principle, the MoU [memorandum of understanding] applies, but we will, of course, discuss this issue with our stakeholders in order to find an amicable solution for all parties involved, in the event that a clash should occur.”
The Champions League resumes with the first round of 16 ties on February 15.
