#PL Stories- #MarcusRashford provides brilliant two-word reaction to incredible #NunoEspiritoSanto gesture #MUFC

Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford has added his voice to those praising Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Nuno Espirito Santo for his incredible £250,000 gesture. Nuno has matched the £250,000 pledged to Wolves' foundation by the Premier League PFA community fund, a contribution which has allowed the club to undertake a three-year project to tackle hunger across Wolverhampton. Wolves ' 'Feed Our Pack' initiative will see the club work in tandem with food banks across the city to support those who need it most during the coronavirus pandemic and beyond. Unemployment rates and the numbers of those claiming universal credit are much higher than the national average and 29 per cent of children in Wolverhampton are officially classed as living in poverty. Future fundraising plans are in the pipeline once it has been deemed safe for them to take place. “Wolves fans and the people of Wolverhampton have been fantastic to me since I arrived here almost four years ago, and I wanted to give something back and help the people who are struggling during the pandemic," Nuno said. “When you live in a city, you see and hear how people have been affected, but it is also a great city where people help and support each other and this is a really important project from Wolves Foundation. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

#PremierLeagueStories – #OleGunnarSolskjear nails difference between Man Utd and Wolves after “lucky” win #MUFC

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes Manchester United benefited from a longer break between matches in last night’s victory over Wolves. While United last played on Saturday, in their 2-2 draw with Leicester, Wolves were back in action just 48 hours after Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Tottenham. And Solskjaer, who admits his team didn’t play particularly well, thinks that had an impact as Marcus Rashford netted a deflected injury time winner. “It was one of those nights when, towards the end, you want fans to help you but we didn’t need that help today,” Solskjaer said. The never-give-up attitude. “We have done it so many times this season and it is starting to become a habit, which is good. “We had to defend well because, on the counter-attack, Wolves are always so dangerous. I thought Eric [Bailly] did fantastically all night, breaking up a few counter-attacks and Nemanja [Matic, in the] second half. David [De Gea] had to make a save and he did. It was a good save, it was an important one for us. “You don’t expect a 4-3 or a 5-4 against Wolves, you expect a tight game. “They make you really work for the points and we had to work hard tonight and I think maybe the extra day’s recovery helped us, of course, because they looked tired in the last 20 minutes and you think, keep going boys, don’t stop believing. We’ve struggled. “It’s the first win in the league for me against them. We’ve beaten them in the FA Cup but I think we’ve played them seven times and there have never been many goals in the games. For me, this is a big step forward, when you don’t perform, but you still win.”
Raul Jimenez Wolves

#PremierLeagueStories – #AlexTelles sends message of support to injured Wolves star #RaulJimenez #WWFC #MUFC

Manchester United full-back Alex Telles has sent his support to Wolves striker Raul Jimenez after his head injury vs Arsenal. The Wolves man suffered a fractured skull in the 2-1 victory over the Gunners last month. He returned home over the weekend after undergoing surgery at a local hospital. Telles himself suffered a similar injury during his time playing in Brazil and still bears the scars from the depressed fracture. Jimenez is now recovering at home and is set for a spell on the sidelines before making his return for Wolves, although a timeframe hasn’t been put on the striker’s return. He will definitely recover and, thank God, it wasn't so serious and he will be able to get back playing as soon as possible, doing what he loves the most. Us players have to have this solidarity and I wish him well and that he gets better soon.” Wolves captain Conor Coady has revealed that the squad has been able to talk to Jimenez via Zoom .
