Mark Noble has revealed that he would like to see Jesse Lingard return to West Ham before the 11pm transfer window deadline.
Mark Noble said: “He surprised me to be honest with what a great lad he was and a top, top footballer, we saw that in the first training session how good he was. I did not think he was going to be that good with the goals he scored and what he created for the team. But it is a tough situation when you have six months left on your contract at a club like Manchester United, he has been there all his life and they have let [Anthony] Martial go and [Donny] Van de Beek. Whether he will come to us, we still have a few hours left so we don’t know but hopefully we can get a deal done for Jesse.”
As things stand with no deal in place for Lingard football.london understands that West Ham are unlikely to make any moves in the remaining hours of the transfer window. This is despite David Moyes’ repeated message earlier in the month that “we would like to add to the squad if we can, if we can find players who we think are more suitable we could do with some more back up.”
However, the manager has always added the caveat that “there is never a guarantee in January with the players you want or if the right ones are available or gettable.” inIt appears that Moyes was wise to stress there was no guarantee with West Ham set to end the transfer window with no new signings at the club.
