David de Gea has sent a message to Bruno Fernandes on the Manchester United captain’s birthday. De Gea left Old Trafford after over a decade in 2023 following an error-strewn season under United boss Erik ten Hag.
David de Gea said “Miss you bro” wishing Fernandes a happy birthday on his Instagram stories alongside a red love heart emoji.
Fernandes has previously stated his belief that De Gea deserved an official send-off in front of the United fans.
Bruno Fernandes said “You deserved to say goodbye at the stadium with all the fans cheering you for all the beautiful memories. You made history at the club and your name will never be forgotten, and that no one can take away from you (clapping emoji). All the best for what’s coming for you and your family.”
United sources insist no contract was ever formally offered to the 33-year-old, despite reports suggesting the goalkeeper had signed terms only for them to be withdrawn.
