Raul Jimenez Wolves

#PremierLeagueStories – #NunoEspiritoSanto defends #RaulJimenez over tackle to #RobinKoch of Leeds #WWFC

Nuno Espirito Santo has defended star striker Raul Jimenez after his involvement in an incident with Leeds United’s Robin Koch. Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Jimenez tangled with Koch near to his manager on the touchline during their win over Leeds on Monday. Referee David Coote didn’t spot the coming together, while VAR reviewed it and didn’t take any retrospective action. “Incidents happen during the game,” said Nuno. “The referee is there to judge and take a decision. “What I see in Raul is a very fair football player. Sometimes when you play with your back to your opponent you are more suited to get physical contact and he deals with that well knowing it is part of the game.” Video Loading Video Unavailable Click to play Tap to play The video will auto-play soon8Cancel Jimenez’s winning goal at Leeds was his 47th in 107 appearances for Wolves, while he’s also contributed his fair share of assists in that time. His ascent to become one of the Premier League’s most revered forwards has been made all the more impressive by the hectic workload he’s taken on with his country. In the last two years Jimenez has become the poster boy for Mexico’s national team and recently starred in their friendlies with the Netherlands and Algeria. The 29-year-old scored the winner from the penalty spot against the Netherlands before creating both of El Tri’s goals in a 2-2 draw with Algeria. He’s played every minute in the Premier League this season and continues to accumulate extraordinary goal scoring statistics. “With Raul, it’s been a challenge for him and for us to manage the minutes that he plays,” Nuno explained. “He played in the Gold Cup with Mexico at the beginning of last season but he’s been able to perform very well and sustain his levels of fitness. “And again this season, it’s always a challenge for him and for us. I see Raul very well, I see him fresh and available, and when he’s like that all the talent emerges and he’s able to help the team. “He treats himself very well. The days that he needs to recover, he’s really committed to it. When he works during matches, he gives everything that he has. He is always able to pass that barrier of eventual fatigue.” Wolves daily newsletter. Free. Karl Darlow is a major doubt for the game after taking a whack in last weekend's 4-1 defeat to Manchester United, while Bruce's number one Martin Dubravka is out until December. Darlow is set to be given until Sunday morning to prove his fitness for the match at Molineux with third choice goalkeeper Mark Gillespie waiting to deputise. Former Walsall goalkeeper Gillespie, 28, has played three times for Newcastle in the Carabao Cup this season and kept clean sheets in wins over Blackburn and Morecambe. He has made a huge improvement from Saturday night. We will take it to the wire and see how he is. It is an impact. It is in a very sore region. He took an awful knock. “We will see how fit he is in 48 hours. He has done fantastically well and waited patiently for his chance. "He was thrown into it after Martin's injury. We hope, hope he can make it. We'll wait and see. “Mark is ready. That's why we brought him here. It looks a good shout now. He has played in the SPL for 4-5 years and he'll be fine if called on.” Read More Related Articles Read More Related Articles Back-to-back wins over Fulham and Leeds United have moved Wolves up to sixth in the early standings, two points ahead of Newcastle who sit 13th. Mesut Ozil Arsenal

#PLStories – #CarltonCole believes #MesutOzil should come to West Ham and feel loved again #WHUFC #ArsenalFC

Carlton Cole says he would love to see Mesut Ozil at West Ham. The Arsenal outcast looks set to leave the Emirates within the next 12 months having been excluded from both the Gunners' Premier League and Europa League squad. Ozil's contract is up at the end of the season and this week he issued a statement hitting out at the club's perceived lack of loyalty after he opted to sign a new contract at the Emirates. Former Hammers striker Cole says he thinks Ozil should undoubtedly have a role at Arsenal and questioned how he was unable to even make their 25-man Premier League squad. Cole told talkSPORT: "I think he knows why he's not playing but he's got to play to the press as well. "It's all PR as well, you've got to understand that. "There's a reason why he's not in that team or even close to it because it's Mesut Ozil - you'd put him in a 25-man squad, come on. When asked if he'd take Ozil at West Ham, Cole added: "Of course, of course. West Ham have always liked those kind of players, those magician-like players. He said: "When I can't support on the pitch tonight, I will support in front of the TV in London. "What are your predictions for the match? I go for a 4-1 away victory."
