#PLStories- Chelsea loanee Armando Broja reveals his ‘crazy’ time at Saints #SAINTSFC #CHELSEAFC

LOANEE Armando Broja described his first few months at Saints as "crazy", adding: "I'm just trying to improve every day." Broja, who is at Saints on a season-long loan from Chelsea, is currently the club's top scorer this term. That is after his impressive opener during Saturday's 1-1 draw with Brighton, taking his tally for the campaign to five. The 20-year-old scored twice on his debut, in the 8-0 Carabao Cup win at Newport County, before also netting against Leeds United and Burnley in the Premier League. Broja has been largely restricted to a role as substitute this season, with Che Adams and Adam Armstrong often preferred. However, the Albania international grabbed his chance from the off against Brighton, in just his fifth start for the club. His goal looked like it would be the winner, until Neal Maupay popped up with an equaliser in the eighth minute of second-half stoppage time. Assessing his time at Saints so far, Broja told the Daily Echo: "I’m really enjoying it. "It’s obviously my first season in the Premier League. It’s been crazy. "I’m a young player and it’s amazing for everyone to be able to have this opportunity to be in the Premier League and gain experience and become a better player and work with better players. "It’s a dream come true. I’m just trying to improve every day and just learn." He added: "Of course there’s always competition. It’s the Premier League, it’s the most difficult league, there’s always going to be competition in the team. "It’s good. I’ll just keep my head down and try and help out the team as much as possible and I was thankful that I got a goal (on Saturday), but the main thing is the team. It was just a shame that we couldn’t take the three points." Reflecting on the late Brighton equaliser, Broja, who had already been replaced by Armstrong when Maupay found the net, said: "Of course it’s disappointing. It’s a big blow to concede to a goal like that. "It’s obviously not the best thing for us, but I think our overall performance was really good. "I think we controlled the game, we dominated the game, it’s just unfortunate to concede a goal right at the end. "It’s not what you want. We just need to keep pushing forward, improving and working hard." He added: "It’s the Premier League, anything can happen, it’s the best league in the world. "One chance and it’s a goal. It’s not ideal for us. "We dominated the game and that’s the thing, when you concede a goal like that, basically the last kick of the game, it was a shame obviously after what I think was a dominant performance from us. "But we’re just going to keep pushing forward and onto Arsenal next week."

Peacock-Farrell signed from Leeds United two years ago and made his first appearances for the club last season, starting eight games in all competitions, including four in the Premier League, deputising for Nick Pope. With Pope on his way back to full fitness and free agent Wayne Hennessey brought in as competition earlier this month, Sean Dyche has decided to grant Wednesday’s request to take Peacock-Farrell on loan, with Will Norris also part of the club’s goalkeeping ranks. #PLStories- Burnley striker #JoelMumbongo joins Accrington Stanley on season-long loan #BURNLEYFC

Burnley prospect Joel Mumbongo has signed for Accrington Stanley on a season-long loan deal. Mumbongo has already clocked up seven appearances for the Clarets first-team but will now step-up his development with a year at the Wham Stadium. The 22-year-old netted eight times in 13 Premier League 2 Division Two fixtures last season and John Coleman is delighted to land the striker who has been a long-term target. He said: "He has really impressed me every time I have watched him. He will add strength to the attacking areas. "He is quick, physically strong, and he is a no-nonsense centre forward, the type I like." Gothenburg-born Mumbongo began his career with Swedish sides BK Hacken and Utsiktens BK, before moving to Italy to join Hellas Verona in the summer of 2018. #PLStories – #KayneRamsay happy to leave Southampton on loan #SaintsFC

DETERMINED Kayne Ramsay insisted now was the time for him to “show everyone what I can do” after joining Crewe Alexandra on a season-long loan deal. The 20-year-old full-back signed a two-year contract extension at Saints in February, but is looking to get more game time under his belt with the Alex next season. Speaking about the deal, he told the Crewe website: “I am extremely happy. I have been wanting to do this for a while now. “I have been dying to get out and get minutes and show everyone what I can do in, hopefully, a season of 40-plus games and get cracking to be honest.” Right-back Ramsay progressed through the ranks at Saints having joined from Chelsea in 2017. He made two senior appearances for the club during the 2020-21 campaign. He played 90 minutes during the infamous 9-0 defeat at Manchester United in February, before coming off the bench in Saints’ 3-0 FA Cup quarter-final win at Bournemouth. Ramsay also played 11 times for the club’s B Team in Premier League Two, as well as twice in the EFL Trophy. But the Londoner believes a campaign in the cut-and-thrust of League One will help enhance his career. “When I was looking at options, when I was speaking to Southampton, they said this was the best club for you to go and develop – especially as a young full-back,” he said. “This past year I have been in and around Southampton’s first team. “I think I’ve learned the other side of the game, the patience and to deal with certain pressures and the different sides of the game when you are not playing and how to deal with it. “Now I think I’ve actually just got to go and play. I am at that age where it’s important I go and get minutes in the league. “This is the right league for me. If I’d have gambled and went to the Championship and maybe didn’t play – where I can go to League One and show what I can do and see if I am able to cope with it.” Ramsay added: “In the past I have made mistakes where I could have looked back and think ‘I shouldn’t have done that there’ in these past two years. “Now you’ve just got to focus, you’ve only got one chance at this and you’ve just got to take it.”

#PL Stories- #AinsleyMaitland-Niles relishing West Brom loan spell #WBAFC

Versatile Arsenal ace Ainsley Maitland-Niles has admitted that the opportunity to play regularly in the Premier League is all he has "ever wanted" after sealing a move to West Bromwich Albion earlier this week. After being linked with the likes of Leicester City and Southampton in the build-up to transfer deadline day, West Brom won the race for the England international, who can operate at either right-back or in central-midfield, signing him on loan for the rest of the season. Despite leaving Arsenal in the hunt for more regular first-team football, Maitland-Niles had been heavily involved in Mikel Arteta's plans this term, featuring 21 times in all competitions. Of those 21 appearances, however, only five of them were Premier League starts. Video Loading Video Unavailable Click to play Tap to play The video will auto-play soon8Cancel And it is starts in the Premier League on a regular basis that Maitland-Niles is keen to experience, with West Brom poised to offer him that in their fight against an immediate return to the Championship. "It’s fantastic to have the opportunity to play regularly in the Premier League. It’s all I’ve ever wanted, to show the world how good I am," Maitland-Niles told West Brom’s official club website. "I want to say a huge thank you to all the West Bromwich Albion fans. They’ve sent me lots of messages on social media. I’m proud to be a member of the club and I want to kick on from here. "Their messages give me the energy and the drive to keep on going every single day. Read More Related Articles Read More Related Articles "We’re in a tough situation at the moment. I wanted to be a part of the fight. I wanted to grit my teeth and get down and dirty and see I come out of it. I want to come out on top of it and I want the club to come out on top of it. "Hopefully I’m a player who can help this club survive in the Premier League." If the Baggies are to avoid relegation heartache come May then they are going to have to go on a formidable run of form between now and the end of the campaign. Currently, Sam Allardyce's side, who have won just two of their 22 Premier League outings this term, are 19th in the table, ten points adrift of safety. Although the gap is in double figures, Maitland-Niles, who could make his debut for his new club against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday lunchtime, is refusing to give up on the club's survival bid.
