Adama Traore

#PLStories- Wolves boss #NunoEspiritoSanto explains big #AdamaTraore mystery #WOLVESFC

Adama Traore is one of the most exciting players in the Premier League when he is in full flight but mystery has surrounded his use of baby oil on his arms. But now Wolves boss Nuno has finally explained why the winger is proving to be a slippery customer when defenders try to catch him. He has been pictured several times applying baby oil either before a game or when he comes on from the substitutes' bench. But Nuno says the idea came from the club's medical department following a shoulder injury he once sustained when a defender grabbed his arm. Ahead of Wolves' clash against Manchester City, the Wolves boss said: "It was not my idea but it’s a good idea. Wolves daily newsletter. Free. It became an option to avoid it and he kept on doing it.” Nuno will hope Traore can produce a stellar performance in midweek when Wolves face Manchester City who won their 20th game in a row at the weekend. City boss Pep Guardiola says his players can expect to suffer against Wolves despite their amazing run. “It is so difficult,” he said. “To have 20 wins in this period, I think this could be the greatest achievement we have done. “It doesn’t mean we have won the title of course, but in winter time in England, every three days a game, COVID-19 situation, injuries... winning, winning, winning shows strength, mentally. #PLStories- #AlexandreLacazette calls on the senior Arsenal players to improve and set example for young players #ArsenalFC

Alexandre Lacazette believes the senior players at Arsenal have to start proving themselves. The Gunners picked up an impressive 3-1 win away at Leicester City on Sunday, to briefly move ahead of arch rivals Tottenham in the table. Spurs' 4-0 win over Burnley put them back in the box seat for north London bragging rights this season, but the Gunners will be hoping to put a poor campaign behind them and and the season on a high. There has been plenty of praise for the young players such as Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka under Mikel Arteta this season. And after the win over the Foxes, Lacazette called on his team-mates to up their game. Talking to BT Sport after the game he said: "We talk a lot about the young players who play really, really well to help the team, but the senior players, we need to be ready to be good, so we don't have to rely on the younger players. "When everyone is focused and good it's easier for Arsenal." Lacazette is one of the players who has struggled for form, but netting from the penalty spot against Leicester should boost his confidence ahead of the home stretch of league matches and the business end of the Europa League. He added: "We need to play well and show to the coach that we deserve to be in the side."

#PLStories- #PepGuardiola wants Manchester City players to get ready for a fight against Wolves #MCFC #WolvesFC

Pep Guardiola has warned his players they must expect to ‘suffer’ against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday night. Manchester City’s opponents have been the ones who have been suffering recently, with West Ham the latest – and 20th successive – side to lose to Guardiola’s relentless team. City will try to extend their record winning run to 21 against Wolves at the Etihad in a couple of days, with Nuno’s men having done the double over them last season, including a 2-0 away victory. Nuno Espirito Santo

#PLStories- #NunoEspiritoSanto predicts bright future of #WillianJose #WOLVESFC

Nuno Espirito Santo has reiterated his belief that Willian Jose will come good for Wolverhampton Wanderers. The striker has failed to score in his first eight matches for Wolves since joining on loan from Real Sociedad towards the end of the January transfer window. Willian’s latest outing came in Wolves’ 1-1 draw with Newcastle United, but he struggled to combine with his teammates before being replaced by Fabio Silva in the final 10 minutes at St James’ Park. He’s a hard worker and the moment the team recognises better his movements, he can give us many things. He’s a hard worker and a very talented player.” Wolves came from behind to earn another point against Newcastle, just as they did twice in the Premier League last season. All four games between the clubs in the last two seasons have ended 1-1. Ruben Neves netted the leveller with his fifth goal in 2021 after Jamaal Lascelles had earlier given Newcastle the lead. We were pressing high, recovering the ball, this is what we expect. “Our expectations are high because we know that we have talented players and we need to improve them. We are working very hard and we will do it.”
Mikel Arteta Arsenal

#PLStories- #MikelArteta has injury boost with #RobHolding fit ahead of Leicester City clash #ArsenalFC

Centre-back Rob Holding is fit and available for Arsenal's trip to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester City on Sunday lunchtime, the Gunners have confirmed. The former Bolton Wanderers man, who signed a new deal at the Emirates Stadium last month, missed Thursday evening's UEFA Europa League triumph over Benfica in Athens after sustaining a head injury in last Sunday's 1-0 defeat to Manchester City in the Premier League. The Gunners made Premier League history by being the first ever club to use the newly-introduced concussion substitution to take Holding off. That incident ruled him out of the Gunners' Europa League round of 32 second-leg victory over Benfica, with the defender having to follow strict ruling in regards to concussion injuries. Video Loading Video Unavailable Click to play Tap to play The video will auto-play soon8Cancel However, Holding has been given the green light to return to the squad for the clash with Brendan Rodgers' high flying Foxes. In an update issued by Arsenal, the club said: "Rob is available for selection following the successful completion of concussion protocol. "Since being substituted last Sunday, Rob has been feeling well at all times and has been closely monitored by our medical team every day at London Colney, where he completed his return to play assessments. "Rob returned to full training with the squad on Saturday." That news will be a big boost to Mikel Arteta's plans for the trip to the Midlands, as the Spaniard could be forced into making changes to contend with the fatigue that is likely to have crept into the squad after only playing on Thursday and taking into account the long journey back across Europe. Whether Holding will, of course, be thrown straight back into the starting line-up remains to be seen. Elsewhere, goalkeeper Runar Alex Runarsson remains sidelined with a knee injury. "Following a strain to his knee in training, Alex is undergoing further assessments and continues to be unavailable," the Gunners confirmed in their statement.
