Pep Guardiola is discussing his plan to step down after his current contract with Manchester City and expresses his intention not to coach another team immediately afterward.
Pep Guardiola said “At the moment, what I feel is that [the two years] are enough and then I’m going to stop, for sure. I’m going to stop. I’m not going to coach another team. I’m not saying [no] in the future but I’m not going to go to another country [to coach], I won’t have the energy. The idea of starting somewhere else, the whole training process and everything… No, no, no.”
Pep Guardiola considers the possibility of managing a national team in the future, suggesting it would be a different experience than club management and believes a break would be beneficial for him.
Pep Guardiola said “Yes, possibly. It’s different, it’s not a day-to-day job. But I believe that wouldn’t be [straight away]. I should stop, like these chefs that go to other countries, stop and see what we’ve done well and what we could do better and when you’re busy all day, day after day, you don’t have time to do that. I think stopping would do me good.”
